Bardini - The Summer Cloche that is making me dislike knitting

Do you ever have a project that you dread picking up to knit? A pattern that you must do because it is a Christmas gift for someone special? Bandini from "Knitting in the Sun" is my kryptonite. I understand the Mini-Herringbone Pattern gives the hat a cool look and great linen tecture...but how long will this take me and how much hand cramping can one person take. It has made me doubt calling myself an intermediate knitter and I try to find something else to do every night instead of this pattern. I do have the boys Halloween costumes to sew or there will be no knights in shining armor. I need a mindless car trip where I am a passenger...I suppose this is "just a hat." If I really have to I can buy one...did I just say that? UGH! I will conquer you Bandidi and I think you were designed by someone with tons of time and patience...a single lady for sure!

  1. I am trying to do this right now too - and I swear the even-row decrease and odd row decrease are swapped... It doesnt make sense to switch directions for the decrease and it doesn't look right either. I've ripped it out 2 times now. What was your take on that or am I crazy?!
