Let's see if I can keep up with 2009 and blogging about knitting. First of all I can never keep up the blogging about my children, so what does that say if I can about my knitting. I keep everything updated on ravelry and I suppose that is why I am more organized about knitting. Ken also downloads pics of the kids on his work computer which does not help me to publish those. My last project of 2008 was my knitted sleeves (Softly Pleated Sleeves from Boutique Knits) ...they are my pride and joy and I wore them Christmas Day and the day after Christmas. I am bit worried about eating in them and having the kids touch me while they are eating even though I can handwash the yarn. I found making the sleeves to be easy, but working with Blue Sky Aplacas Brushed Suri to be a pain! The trim I used rarely lays straight, so I think next time I will go with the idea of making a design instead of a line. The sleeves kept me warm yet frustrated me when they twisted (to avoid I think you need to add a thumb loop or something like that). This project was a welcome relief from the knitted penguins that I had to knit two of.
